Mengal case

An anti-terrorism court on Monday deferred the indictment of the former chief minister of Balochistan, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, till March 12 in a case about the kidnapping and holding army personnel hostage on April 5, 2006, adds a reporter.

Judge Ahmed Nawaz Shaikh of ATC-III, who is conducting the trial in the Central Prison, had earlier fixed Feb 25 for framing of charges against the accused, but the hearing was postponed as the defence counsel requested the court for adjournment, stating that his client’s father was ill.
