KARACHI: Provision of gas to villages ordered

KARACHI, Feb 25: The Sindh caretaker Chief Minister, retired Justice Abdul Qadir Halepota, on Monday directed the relevant authorities to ensure provision of gas to all the villages of the province for which the government allocated Rs200 million in the current budget.

He was presiding over a meeting at the Chief Minister’s House. The chief minister said that the population of a number of villages was much higher than the official statistics, so they deserved provision of gas.

Citing the example of Hyderabad district where several villages are still without gas, he said that hundreds of such villages existed across the province.

The additional chief secretary, planning and development, Sindh, Nazar Hussain Mahar, Secretary Finance Mumtazur Rehman and others attended the meeting.—PPI
