ISLAMABAD, Feb 24: The Election Commission has disposed of about 100 applications filed by candidates seeking re-election in their constituencies.

The decision was taken by the commission in its meeting held under the chairmanship of

Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Qazi Mohammad Farooq.

There will be no re-polling on Feb 25 in some polling stations of different constituencies of the National and provincial assemblies.

Re-polling at 12 polling stations in various constituencies was held on Feb 23.

Election Commission Secretary Kunwar Dilshad said votes would be counted immediately after the polling on Feb 25 and final results might be notified by March 1.

He said those elected to the National and provincial assemblies were required to submit returns of their election expenditure to returning officers by

Feb 28.
