KARACHI: Trader shot dead

KARACHI, Feb 24: A trader belonging to a minority community was killed by unknown persons in the Mehmoodabad area early Sunday morning.

Police said Basharat Mughal, 45, a wood trader and resident of Akhtar Colony’s Sector A, was headed to his place of worship when unknown persons shot him dead near Masjid Baitul Mukurram in the same locality.

The victim died on the spot. He body was sent to the Jinnah Hospital for postmortem examination, police said.

Police said the victim belonged to the Ahmadi sect and was headed to his place of worship in Sector B, Akhtar Colony, when gunmen targeted him.

Police registered a case against unknown suspects at the Mehmoodabad police station.
