DERA GHAZI KHAN, Feb 23: Pakistan Muslim League-Q candidate Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari won the National Assembly seat NA-172 by securing 44,476 votes.

According to unofficial results, another PML-Q candidate, Khwaja Shiraz, won the NA-171 by securing 36,166 votes.

Leghari defeated PMLN candidate Hafiz Abdul Karim, who secured 42,405 votes, and Pakistan People’s Party’s Shabbir Ahmad Leghari.

The result of this constituency was withheld after Karim applied for re-poll on certain polling stations. However, the election commission ordered re-poll only on one polling station on Saturday, where Leghari secured 894 votes and Karim 58.

In NA-171, Shiraz defeated independent Amjad Khosa (33,838 votes) and PML-N’s Mir Badshah Qaisrani (32,659 votes).

In PP-241, PML-Q’s Fateh Muhammad Buzdar got 25,718 votes and defeated Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal’s Khwaja Nizam Fakhri (22,293 votes) and independent Akram Malghani (15,400 votes).

In PP-245, PML-Q’s Mohsin Leghari won by securing 18,230 votes. He defeated Pakistan People’s Party’s Dr Saeed Buzdar (16,430 votes) and independent Muhammad Khan (14,869 votes).

The re-poll remained peaceful.

However, PPP, PML-N and MMA candidates rejected NA-171 results, staged a protest demonstration against the winner PML-Q candidate and blocked the Indus Highway for two hours.
