PPP seeks arrest of worker’s killers

SUKKUR, Feb 23: Hundreds of People’s Party activists took out a rally in Mirpur Mathelo on Saturday against the delay in arrest of culprits involved in the killing of Shoaib Pitafi, the nephew of Sardar Ahmed Ali Pitafi, on Feb 18.

The protestors were chanting slogans against the police. They marched on main thoroughfares of the city and reached the Clock Tower chowk where they staged a demonstration.

Sardar Pitafi had lodged an FIR at Dad Leghari police station against five people —Nadir Akmal Leghari, Fateh Ali Leghari, Mohammad Ali Leghari, Amjad Leghari and Mubbashir Hussain Leghari— a few days ago.

Sources said that SPO Mirpur Mathelo Inayat Hussain Bhatti and SIO Mukhtiar Mazari had been suspended for their involvement in escorting former Sindh minister Nadir Akmal Leghari from Mirpur Mathelo to Sukkur on Friday night, instead of arresting him.
