SUKKUR, Feb 23: Thull police on Saturday booked 70 supporters of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid on charges of attacking a polling station in Mohammad Pannah Channa village, maltreating staff, stamping ballot papers and casting bogus votes for a PML candidate on Feb 18.

The assistant presiding officer of the polling station lodged an FIR against 70 people including SDO of roads Abdul Majeed Panhyar, manager of Zarai Taraqqiyati Bank Shafi Mohammad Sarki, Majid Sarki, Hazoor Bux Channa and Khamiso Channa and accused them of maltreating the polling staff and casting bogus votes for Dr. Suhrab Sarki, a PML-Q candidate for PS-15.They kept them in illegal detention for the whole night and released them in the morning of Feb 19 after getting their signatures on result sheets, he alleged.

The SHO of Thull police station Asad Nabi Khichi confirmed registration of the FIR and said that the case had been registered under sections 357, 171F, 342, 353, 468, 506/2, 148 and 149 PPC, but no arrest had been made yet.
