No-trust move against dist nazim planned

By Ghanshamdas

JACOBABAD, Feb 23: The Pakistan People’s Party leaders have decided in principle to moving a no-confidence motion against District Nazim Begum Saeeda Soomro.

The district council members belonging to PPP-backed panel claimed that they had supported Begum Saeeda Soomro in the belief that she would keep herself away from any political party and serve the district without any discrimination.

But she not only proved herself biased and partial but also used unfair means and misused her power by running political campaign for her favourite candidates.

PPP’s newly-elected National Assembly member Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani said that 38 of 55 council members had agreed in principle to move the motion against Begum Soomro.

Begum Soomro dismissed the charges as false, fabricated and concocted and stressed she would complete her term because she had served people and launched many mega projects in the area.

She said that the district government had planned to supply potable water to all the residents of the town.

CHEQUE DISTRIBUTION: District Nazim Begum Saeeda Soomro distributed cheques at her office on Saturday among riot victims.

The victims included Nasir Ali (Rs30,000), Abdul Jabbar (Rs40,000), Pervez Khan (Rs30,000), Mohammad Suleman (Rs50,000), Mohammad Moosa (Rs50,000), Soomar Khan (Rs50,000), Ghulam Nabi Soomro (Rs40,000) and Abdul Latif Zahri (Rs100,000).

Begum Saeeda Soomro also awarded grant-in-aid cheques for Rs2 million to president Bar Haji Anwar Jakhrani.
