By Nisar Ahmad Khan

MANSEHRA, Feb 22: Gen (retd) Salahuddin Tirmizi of the Pakistan Muslim League-N was declared elected to the NA-20 seat with a narrow margin of 53 votes after a vote recount on Friday.

Earlier, Shahjehan Yousaf of PML-Q had been declared to have won the seat.

The recounting was undertaken on an application of Mr Tirmizi.

With Mr Tirmizi’s success, the PML-N’s seat tally in the NWFP has risen to five and that of PML-Q has fallen to four.

In the earlier unofficial results, Mr Yousaf had bagged 72,299 votes against 72,161 polled by Mr Tirmizi.
