KARACHI: Stamps show to feature at All About Lifestyles
KARACHI, Feb 21: Over 2,000 vintage Pakistani stamps, with some dating back to 1947, will be on display at the Pakistan Stamps Show, 2008, which is one of several cultural programmes scheduled to be held at the All About Lifestyles Exhibition, 2008, a three-day event that kicks off on Saturday, Feb 23, at the Expo Centre.
According to a press release, the stamps have been preserved by Pakistan Post and the Pakistan Stamp Collectors’ Society, which trace the journey of the postal service over the last 60 years.
Other events planned for All About Lifestyles, which will be held on the 23rd, 24th and 25th, include a dog show, which features a competition between dogs on the basis of their training and skills; ‘Karachi Through Your Eyes,’ an inter-school photography and painting competition where students from over 100 schools from all over the city will exhibit their work; the Books & Authors Pavilion, which will showcase the Raj Library, as well as featuring a bookshop, library, story-telling and signing sessions with prominent authors; ‘Frames of Mind,’ a display of photographs by Sheji Kazmi and the property investment show, a platform for the Pakistani and global property industry, where those interested can get the facts on buying and selling real estate.
Apart from the dog show – which will only be held on Sunday – all other events will be held on all three days.
All About Lifestyles, in its sixth year, brings together different brands to display their wares for consumers. About half a million people are expected to attend, adds the release.
The timings of the exhibition are from 10am to 10pm and entry is free, albeit for families only.
