LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 19: The influential Saifullahs grabbed the sole National Assembly (NA) and two provincial assembly (PF) seats of the district, while their ally Anwar Kamal Khan Marwat (PML-N) could not retain his provincial assembly seat.

According to un-official results, PML-Q candidate Humayun Saifullah Khan won NA-27 by securing 60,896 votes while Pir Mohammad Khalid Raza Zakori of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal got 52,139 votes in the constituency.

Former federal minister Anwar Saifullah Khan was declared successful on two provincial assembly seats. In PF-74 (Lakki Marwat-I), Mr Saifullah, as an independent candidate, beat another independent candidate Zafarullah Khan Marwat. The former obtained 14,602 votes while the later secured 9,919 votes.

Anwar Saifullah as an independent capacity also grabbed PF-75 (Lakki Marwat-II) by securing 22,473 votes. An independent candidate Malik Noor Salim remained runner up with 21,830 votes.

A tough contest was witnessed between the provincial general-secretary of the PML-N and an independent candidate in PF-76 (Lakki Marwat-III), and Munawar Khan (18,603 votes) defeated Anwar Kamal Marwat (18459 votes) with 144 votes.
