PESHAWAR, Feb 15: NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani on Friday decided to set up a task force to review and assess the administrative structure of Fata and come up with proposal for its improvement.

The task force to be headed by the additional chief secretary Fata and consisting of four other senior members would offer recommendations to the government in a fortnight. The meeting was held at the Governor’s House here.

The meeting discussed the existing situation and the administrative structure of Fata. Participants of the meeting offered their views for streamlining and improving the administrative mechanism so as to be able to meet the challenges arising out of the prevalent tense situation in Fata and NWFP.

“There is a need for rejuvenation and re-strengthening of administrations in Fata as well as in the settled area”, the governor told the meeting. Chief Secretary Sahibzada Riaz Noor, Additional Chief Secretary Ghulam Dastagir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary (Fata) Habibullah Khan, Secretary to Governor Azmat Hanif, Secretary Home Badshah Gul Wazir and Chief Executive FDA Mohammad Shahzad Arbab, besides all the administrative secretaries attended the meeting.
