DHA College wins badminton crown

KARACHI, Feb 14: DHA College retained the title of Karachi Board Inter-collegiate girls’ badminton championship outplaying Bahria College M. T. Khan Road by straight 3-0 in the best of five final at Karachi College for Women court on Thursday.

Fatima Bibi turned out to be outstanding for winners as apart from winning opening singles against Alisba Waseem 21-14, 21-12 she teamed up with Nimra to claim the doubles by getting the better of Alisba/Sidra Farooq 21-11, 21/12.

Fatima Saeed wrapped up the match beating Sidra 21-16, 21-8 in the reverse singles.

Earlier, the defending champions sent Karachi College for Women packing registering a 3-0 win while Bahria College M. T. Khan Road defeated KMA Girls College 3-0 in the two pre-finals played on Wednesday.

Final: DHA College bt Bahria College M. T. Khan Road 3-0.

Fatima Bibi bt Alisba Waseem 21-14, 21-12; Fatima Bibi/Nimra Khan bt Alisba Waseem/Sidra Farooq 21-11, 21-12; Fatima Saeed bt Sidra Farooq 21-16, 21-8.

Semi-finals: DHA College bt Karachi College for Women 3-0; Bahria College M. T. Khan Road bt KMA Girls College 3-0.
