KARACHI, Feb 14: Berthing was slow at the wharves where only two container vessels were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, another container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell to 50 per cent as five ships, Maersk Iowa, Dahlia, As Salam, Nepheli and Lake Globe, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, wheat and canola seeds.

A cargo volume of 42,372 tons comprising 31,019 tons of import and 11,353 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Nedlloyed Africa, Vale and Al Salam-II left the port while Maersk Iowa and ACX Dahlia were due to depart.
