SANGHAR, Feb 11: Commuters are facing hardship due to non-availability of public transport in the district as police have started impounding pickups, wagons, buses and trucks to use them during the Feb 18 general election.
At some places, police forcibly disembarked passengers and drove the vehicles away to the pool established for such vehicles. On such occasions, exchange of hot words between police and passengers was reported.
To prevent the impounding, several owners of buses and wagons have moved their vehicles from the road and parked them at ‘safe’ places.
In this scenario, commuters are suffering as they have to wait for hours to reach their destination.
A similar situation exists in Nawabshah district where commuters have to wait for hours to find a vehicle to reach their destinations, adds our Nawabshah correspondent.
