Port Qasim

KARACHI, Feb 11: Brisk shipping activity was observed at the port where six vessels carrying containers, rice, carbon oil, wheat, canola seeds, chemicals and diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multipurpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Fotco terminal, respectively, on Sunday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with containers also arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 60 per cent at the port where seven ships M.V. New Delhi Express, Al Salam, Al Rafal, Nepheli, Lake Globe, Energy Challenger and Liquid Success occupied berths to load, offload containers, rice, carbon oil, wheat, diesel oil and chemicals, respectively, during the period under review.

Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the where a cargo volume of 79,442 tons comprising 72,002 tons imports and 7,440 tons exports, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 923 containers (Teus) was handled during the report period.

Three vessels M.V. Gloria, Al Rafal and New Delhi Express, M. V. Liquid Success and Energy Challenger were expected to sail on Monday.
