Szavay to face Chakvetadze in final

PARIS, Feb 10: Hungarian teenager Agnes Szavay battled it out for over two hours to overcome Russian Elena Dementieva 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 and set up a Paris Open final against top seed Anna Chakvetadze on Saturday.

Russia’s Chakvetadze advanced to the title match by ending the hopes of local favourite Marion Bartoli with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 win.

RADWANSKA WINS

PATTAYA (Thailand): Polish teenager Agnieszka Radwanska survived a thrilling fightback from American Jill Craybas to win the Pattaya Open on Sunday.

Top seed Radwanska captured her second career title with a 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 victory, beating the determined Craybas 7-4 in an entertaining final-set breaker.
