PESHAWAR, Feb 10: Chairman of US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen called on Corps Commander Lt-Gen Mohammad Masood Aslam here on Sunday.

Inter Services Public Relations said in a press release that Admiral Mullen appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan army in combating militants in the border areas and Swat.

Gen Aslam spoke about the causes of militancy in certain parts of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

He said the efforts were being made to restore normalcy in the troubled areas.
