Karzai calls Asfandyar, condemns bomb attack

PESHAWAR, Feb 10: Afghan President Hamid Karzai contacted Awami National Party president Asfandyar Wali Khan on Sunday and expressed profound grief over the bomb attack on his party’s meeting in Nahqai area of Charssada.

According to an ANP press release, Mr Karzai told

Mr Asfandyar that the

Afghan people stood by their Pukhtoon brethren in this hour of distress.

Mr Karzai said the Pukhtoons had been a victim of terrorism in this region, but such incidents would not deter their resolve for peace.

The ANP chief said that the Pukhtoon nation was grateful to the Afghan president for his sentiments and support.
