Police book PML office-bearers

NAWABSHAH, Feb 9: Police booked the president of the Nawabshah chapter of Pakistan Muslim League and PML candidates on charges of attacking a Pakistan People’s Party rally late on Friday night in Ghulam Shah Leghari village near Sakrand leaving one dead and three injured.

Ghulam Shah Leghari who was among the injured lodged an FIR at Sakrand police accusing president of Nawabshah chapter of PML former minister Khan Mohammed Dahiri, and party candidates Abdul Hafeez Unnar, Imdad Rahu and 26 others of attack, which left his brother Abdul Rasheed Leghari, PPP’s taluka general secretary dead and two others injured.

Police also booked Ghulam Shah Leghari on charges of attacking and firing on PML convoy on the complaint of Khadim Hussain Khaskheli, a PML supporter.

ROTATION: The executive engineer of Nusrat irrigation division announced on Saturday rotation programme for channels that branch out of the division on basis of availability of water.

The official said in a press release that whenever the discharge position improved, the channel which had to be closed under rotation programme would be opened at anytime and if the shortage of water persisted, running channels could be closed.

According to the programme, in group-I, Shahpur Jehanian sub-division, Channa System will remain open from Feb 10 to 17, in Daur sub-division, James distry, Labji Wai distry, Nawabshah distry and Magsi distry will remain open from Feb 11 to 18.

In group-II, Nawabshah sub-division-I, Gajrah branch System will remain closed from Feb 10 to 17, in Shahpur sub-division, Chan Bandhni distry, Gupchani Minor and Shah Hussain Minor will remain closed from Feb 10 to 17 and in Daur sub-division, DOs of Amerji branch will remain closed from Feb 11 to 18.
