TOKYO, Feb 8: Asia’s Olympic chief Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah has retracted his snub of Tokyo’s bid for the 2016 Games as Japan continued to rebel against the handball governing body he runs, a report said Friday.
The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) president, who also heads the Asian Handball Federation, had said he would not support the Tokyo bid after Japan and South Korea took part in rematches of disputed Olympic handball qualifiers.—AFP
