Sattar, Diego shine in Aibak Cup polo

LAHORE, Feb 6: Four-goal Sattar Khan Niazi and three by Diego White helped Bank of Punjab beat Lindt Chocolate by 8- 6 1/2 in the Aibak Cup polo here on Wednesday.

Due to a half goal handicap, the losing side led the eventful first chukker by 2 1/2-2 -- Lindt Chocolate got the lead after back-to-back goals by White and one each by Ignacio Toccacino and Mian Hussain Iftikhar.

But the second chukker was completely dominated by the bankers, who scored four goals in a row to lead by 6- 2 1/2. Sattar pumped in three while Naveed M. Sheikh chipped in one goal.

Although the losing side tried staging a comeback and retaliated by scoring all the three goals of the third chukker when Ahmed Zubair, Toccacino and Saqib Khan found the target, they could only reduce the lead by 6-5 1/2.

The race for supremacy was at its peak in the fourth chukker. Toccacino’s third goal in the beginning put Lindt Chocolate again on top with 6 1/2-6 but Sattar and White netted one more goal for the bankers to make the tally.
