POA meeting

KARACHI, Feb 6: A six-point agenda has been drawn for the vital meeting of the Pakistan Olympic Association’s (POA) general council which meets at a Lahore five-star hotel on Saturday at 11.00am.

The important item on agenda is the elections for the next four-year term. Other items include approval of secretary’s report for Jan-Dec 2007, consideration and approval of budget estimates of POA for 2008-09, approval of the annual audited statement of accounts till June 30 etc.

Information gathered by Dawn on Wednesday revealed the meeting will be attended by two representatives apiece from some 30 plus national federations, one each from four provincial Olympic associations and seven affiliated departments besides representatives of the women’s wing.—Sports Correspondent
