LAHORE, Feb 6: Three students, two of them cousins, were crushed under the wheels of a train because of poor visibility in Shahdara Town area on Wednesday, the Edhi and the railway police said.
The victims, identified as Rehman (16), Rashid (12) and Ibrar (13), residents of Mughlia Park locality, were going to their schools.
Rehman and Rashid were cousins and were studying at Al-Habib Foundation School, while Ibrar was a Lawrence School student.
According to railway police, the boys were crossing the track near Sangeet Cinema crossing when they failed to notice an approaching Rawalpindi-bound train.
The driver due to fog could not see the students crossing the track, the police added.
Soon after the incident, locals gathered on the spot within no time and identified the boys through their names written on their copies and books.
Edhi ambulance, the railway and local police were informed of the incident. The railway police handed over the bodies to the respective families without an autopsy.

According to Muhammad Ashiq, father of Ibrar, the three boys were fast friends and used to be together most of the time.
He said they would go to school by motorcycle-rickshaw but unfortunately on Wednesday they decided to go on foot.
In another incident, an unidentified 16-year-old girl was ran over by a train near Chand Marri stop in Gujjarpura area on Wednesday.
However, it could not be ascertained whether it was an accident or the girl committed suicide.

Three armed men barged into the house of Rasheed in Nishat Colony and escaped after looting cash, gold ornaments and a cell phone all worth Rs175,000.
Two armed motorcyclists snatched a cell phone from Ejaz of Rehmanpura in Wahdat Colony, while as many robbers deprived Sajjad of Rs23,000 in cash and a cell phone in Muslim Town.
The victim was going to a local bank to deposit cash when the robbers looted him near the Muslim Town Mor.
Four gun-toting men deprived a cab driver of his vehicle, cash and two cell phones in the South Cantonment area.
Two men hired Tariq’s vehicle and reached Green Valley Scheme where their two other accomplices were waiting for them. They tied Tariq up with a rope and snatched his wallet containing Rs4,100 in cash and two cell phones and escaped in his cab.
