Infant kidnapped five months ago recovered

FAISALABAD, Feb 6: The Civil Lines police have claimed recovering an infant who was kidnapped from the District Headquarters Hospital almost five months ago.

Muhammad Naeem, a resident of Shaheenabad, became father on Sept 9 and a few hours after his son’s birth, he was kidnapped from the DHQ hospital’s Amina Ward.

A women police station registered a case against unknown people and started investigation.

Civil Lines police station SHO Usman Warraich told reporters that on a tip-off they arrested a woman namely, Hina, of Chak-257 Khurd, and recovered the baby from her possession.

Naeem told journalists that the arrested girl had visited them twice in the hospital when God had blessed them with a baby. The girl slipped with the child during one of her appearances, he alleged.

The suspect, however, denies doing so claiming that “she is the mother of a child and has nothing to do with kidnapping.” She said her aged husband, Muhammad Akram had implicated her in the case to part with her.

The police handed over the child to Naeem and started investigation. — Correspondent
