Three kidnapped, one killed

SHIKARPUR, Feb 6: Gangs of bandits kidnapped three passengers near Pir Zubair Dargah on the Shikarpur-Sukkur road, and fired on a bus, killing a security man on the Khanpur-Kandhkot road in separate incidents early on Wednesday.

A gang of bandits stopped a wagon at gunpoint and kidnapped three men including driver. The hostages’ names could not be ascertained.

The DPO said that three passengers were travelling in the wagon but according to some sources the number of passengers was 10 including driver who had been kidnapped.

A sepoy of Sibbi Scouts, Sallamzar, 33, was killed and 12 passengers of two coaches were injured when a gang of highwaymen opened fire on their vehicles after the drivers tried to speed away past them near Shaikh Wahi on the Khanpur-Kandhkot road in the jurisdiction of Naparkot police station.

The sepoy’s body was handed over to Subedar Mohammad Khan of Sibbi Scouts while the injured Habibullah, 55, Ameerzadi 26, Saeedullah, 27, Anwar Khan, 22, Mohammad Ismail, 30, Jameel Ahmed, 33, Habib Khan, 37, Ms Nasreen Bibi, 24, Shafqat, 40, Khalid Gul, 30, and Mirbaz, 30, were moved to Shikarpur Civil Hospital.

MURDER: A man was killed in an attack by his rivals in Faqir Mohammad Bhayo village the jurisdiction of Hamayoon police station late on Tuesday night. Mohammad Aslam Bhayo who stayed as guest at the house of Manzoor Bhayo had come from Sukkur to settle a dispute between them over a piece of agricultural land.

Manzoor Bhayo allegedly flew out of handle during talks with the guests and shot dead Aslam Bhayo with the help of his relatives. Ahsan Bhayo, brother late Aslam, registered an FIR at Hamayoon police station on Wednesday against four accused.
