GUJRAT, Feb 5: The Gujrat tehsil nazim and his 10 associates and a station house officer (SHO) along with two other policemen were booked in two separate cases on the directives of district and sessions judge for allegedly destroying the election office of a PML-N candidate and damaging his vehicles a few days ago.

District and Sessions Judge Allah Bakhsh Ranjha ordered registration of a case against Karianwala SHO Sarwar Gondal, Sub-inspector (SI) Ashraf and the muharrar and another against Tehsil Nazim Saadat Nawaz Ajnala and his 10 associates on two separate petitions filed by Shabbir Ahmad Gondal, a PML-N candidate for PP-108 and 109, and his younger brother Tanveer Ahmad Gondal, respectively.

Though the Karianwala police have registered the case on court orders, Tanveer alleged that none of the accused had been arrested so far.

The main accused, Saadat Ajnala, was still running the PML-Q’s electioneering in Karianwala town and none of the police had bothered to arrest him or any of their fellows booked in the separate case.

Shabbir, who is president of the PML-N’s Gujrat chapter, petitioned that SHO Gondal, SI Ashraf and the muharrar filled sand into the engines of their two Land Cruisers due to which they had suffered a Rs 600,000 loss.

In the separate petition, Tanveer sought the registration of a case against Saadat Ajnala and his 10 accomplices for their involvement in attacking and damaging their election office in Karianwala town and three vehicles parked outside the office around 10 days ago.

The petitioners alleged that they moved the Karianwala police but they were reluctant to register the case on which the judge ordered the police to do so.
