ISLAMABAD, Feb 5: The Capital Development Authority’s health department has sought a helicopter and 20 more vehicles to improve its ambulance service, which has been launched to cope with emergency situations.

According to sources, a summary has been sent to CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari which states that with the increase in the fleet size, the service will also be provided in the rural areas of Islamabad district.

The sources said funds for the proposed vehicles were likely to be approved in the next year’s next.

At present, the civic authority has 16 vehicles with all latest facilities to operate the service. Recruitment of 50 doctors, nurses and medical technicians has also been completed.

The capital city has been divided into seven zones and each zone has two ambulances. Offices have been established in G-6/2, E-7, G-10, F-7, I-8 and I-9 sectors.—Online
