Snowfall blocks highways

Published February 3, 2008

QUETTA, Feb 2: The provincial capital and its adjoining areas received on Saturday heavy snowfall for a second time in four days.

Key national highways between Quetta and Chaman and Quetta and Zhob were blocked for traffic due to snow.

Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the Khojak Pass. The national highway between Quetta and Zhob was also blocked at Kanmetherzai.

However, the traffic between Quetta and Sibi and Quetta and Karachi was restored after the authorities had cleared the roads near Mach, in Bolan valley, and Lakpass.—Correspondent
