Pakistan U-19 win tri-series final

COLOMBO, Feb 2: Pakistan thrashed hosts Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the U-19 tri-nation limited-overs series final at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground on Friday.

Inviting the hosts to bat first, Pakistan dismissed them for a paltry 131 in 36 overs with opener Munaweera top-scoring with 39. Captain Imad Wasim and Umar Akmal picked three wickets apiece.

In reply, Pakistan U-19s reached the required target in 27.2 overs for the loss of just two wickets. Umar Akmal struck a brisk 47 while Umar Amin (38 not out) and Shan Masood (26 not out) ensure a big win for the tourists.

England were the third team in the tri-series.
