Automated licences

Published February 3, 2008

LAHORE, Feb 2: District Nazim Mian Amer says the City District Government was considering issuance of international standard computerised driving licences in cooperation with Nadra. Talking after a briefing by Nadra General Manager (Projects) Aleem Majid at Jinnah Hall here on Saturday, the nazim said the record of all traffic violations would be fed on a micro-chip in the computerised driving licences, which would be valid for 10 years and suspended or cancelled after the violations exceeded a certain limit. The drivers would be allowed to deposit fine at Nadra kiosks as well, Amer added.—Reporter
