Unisame seeks tax relief

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 2: The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (Unisame) has drawn the attention of caretaker finance minister Dr Salman Shah, and other officials, towards economic difficulties being faced by the country.

In separate messages to Salman Taseeer, minister for industries, production and special initiatives and Shahzad Alam Monnoo, commerce minister, the union emphasised that the only avenue for growth and economic boost is the SME sector, more particularly the medium sector, and called for full-fledged efforts.

Zulfikar Thaver, president, Unisame, pointed out that the government should realise the situation and accept the fact that at present, with limited resources and increasing deficit, development programmes need to be reviewed.
