GUJAR KHAN, Feb 1: Six women factory workers were killed and five others injured in a traffic accident on Kahuta-Rawalpindi road on Friday morning.

Police said the Rawalpindi-bound van coming from Kahuta was taking the women workers to their workplace near Rawalpindi when it collided with a bus near Aliote village at about 8.30am.

According to the police, the cause of the accident was rush driving.

As a result, Ramia Bibi, Riffat al Abbas, Waheeda Bibi and Tayyaba Bibi died on the spot while the others were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Rawalpindi.

The hospital and police sources confirmed that two of the injured women had expired in the hospital but their names could not be confirmed.

Later, the hospital sources said only one accident victim, identified as Nazima Bibi, was under treatment at the surgery ward while the other injured had been discharged after treatment.
