HYDERABAD, Feb 1: The first-ever boarding school under the aegis of Overseas Pakistani Foundation (OPF) in Sindh will be established in Hyderabad and the district government will provide a plot of land free of cost. An agreement to this effect will soon be signed by the district government and the OPF.

This decision was taken at a recent meeting which was presided over by District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil.

He said that the district government was giving top priority to development and promotion of education.

He accepted the request of the OPF to provide land for the boarding school subject to the condition that after taking over the possession, the foundation will start the construction of the building within six months and local people will be given preference as teachers and managers. The district nazim and the DCO will be the members on the governing body of the school.

The nazim insisted that the district government would be consulted in the appointment of staff.

He offered a school building to the foundation on a temporary basis till the construction of the new building.

The OPF representatives said that the proposed higher secondary school in Hyderabad would be the first which would also have boarding facility.
