By Our Correspondent

RIYADH, Feb 1: Almost 158,000 birds have been culled in Saudi Arabia in past weeks in an effort to stop spreading of H5N1 bird flu. The birds were culled after they were tested positive for the virus.

The bird flu was found south of the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. The outbreak was found on a farm in the al-Kharj region, just south of the capital Thousands of birds were culled in the region last November too after they were found infected with the disastrous strain of bird flu too.
