Dippenaar quits

KIMBERLEY (South Africa), Jan 30: South African batsman Boeta Dippenaar has declared his retirement from international cricket.

“Where my cricket career stands now, I have to make the tough call and step away,” he said on Tuesday. “I want to improve my qualifications for life after cricket. Even if I were in the national team now I would have announced my retirement at the end of the season.”

Dippenaar played 38 Tests, scoring 1718 with three hundreds at 30.14. He also featured in 107 ODIs, scoring 3421 runs with four hundreds. —Agencies
