KARACHI, Jan 29: The inaugural Chief of Naval Staff Shooting Championship will be held at the Naval International Shooting Range from March 3-11, the National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) announced on Tuesday.
All the affiliated units of NRAP including Army, Navy, PAF, Punjab, Sindh, NWFP, Balochistan and Higher Education Commission are expected to take part in the 10-day competition.
The pistol, rifle and shotgun events will be staged in the men and women category, Executive Vice President NRAP, Razi Ahmed Khan said.
Some foreign shooters were also likely to be invited to feature in the championship in order to and make it more competitive.
Razi Ahmed, who is also a licensed International Sports Shooting Federation (ISSF) coach, said the federation was also considering to apply for wild-card entries for the Beijing Olympics.
The NRAP official said Pakistan shooters are eligible to apply for Olympics in men and women Rifle and skeet in the men’s category after achieving Minimum Qualifying Scores in the international arena last year.
Commenting on holding of SAF Shooting in March, he said it has been deferred till September/October due to March 23 preparations in Islamabad.—APP
