Munaf to replace R.P. Singh

NEW DELHI, Jan 29: Injured India paceman Rudra Pratap Singh will miss next month’s one-day tri-series in Australia and Yuvraj Singh is also an injury concern, the cricket board said on Tuesday.

Left-armer Singh, the bowling spearhead during the 2-1 Test series defeat in Australia, suffered a hamstring injury during the final Test in Adelaide.

He will need three weeks to recover and will be replaced by Munaf Patel.

Yuvraj will miss the start of the tri-series due to a knee injury.Manoj Tiwari will be flown in as stand-by.

Yuvraj will consult an orthopaedic surgeon in Melbourne on Wednesday, although he is hopeful of regaining fitness for the one-dayer against Australia on Feb 10.—Reuters
