GUJRANWALA, Jan 29: President Pervez Musharraf’s just-concluded foreign tour was a total failure, and he was everywhere found explaining his illegal steps and defending his sacking Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Aitzaz Ahsan’s spouse Bushra Aitzaz stated this while addressing the District Bar Association here on Tuesday.

She said the government’s flawed policies had forced men and women of the country to queue up for getting flour.

Had all the judges of superior courts refused to take oath under the Nov 3 Provisional Constitution Order, the Musharraf government would have gone the same day, she added.

The wife of the detained SCBA president said that General Musharraf could not legalise illegal steps he had been taking since Oct

1999.

Bushra said Aitzaz was fighting for rule of law, supremacy of the Constitution and independence of the judiciary and the whole nation was united behind him.
