HYDERABAD, Jan 29: Activists of Child Rights Committee staged a demonstration outside the press club on Tuesday against torture of a teenaged domestic servant, Kishore Meghwar, a couple of days ago.

The committee’s office-bearer Kashif Bajeer condemned the violence and said that it was government’s duty to check excesses against children.

He demanded exemplary punishment to Kishore’s tormentors and urged the government to legislate strict laws on the protection of children and unlawful compulsory labour.

He called upon civil society and parents to perform their role in protecting children from inhuman atrocities including sexual harassment.

T.M.KHAN NAZIM: Tando Mohammad Khan District Nazim Mir Inayat Ali Khan Talpur said on Tuesday that the work on development schemes under the Hyderabad Development Package would start next month.

He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of district government secretariat in Tando Mohammad Khan.
