FAISALABAD, Jan 27: Jaranwala’s Sadar police on Sunday registered a case against five people in connection with the murder of four people in Chak 501-GB a day ago.

Initially, it was believed that Union Council-32 naib nazim Shahnawaz, his brothers Iftikhar Ahmed and Zulfiqar Ahmed, friend Anwar Ali, gunman Tariq Ali and an unidentified man exchanged words over an unknown issue and then resorted to firing at each other. As a result, Shahnawaz, Iftikhar, Zulfiqar and Tariq were killed at the scene.

However, police investigator Akbar Sindhu said the four men were gunned down by a man, Munir, who had an affair with Zulfiqar’s wife. He said Munir had been named in the first information report, but his four accomplices were yet to be identified.

However, no accused had been arrested till Sunday evening.
