Joint efforts to solve traders’ problems

ISLAMABAD, Jan 27: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) have decided to resolve the problems being faced by the traders and industrialists by joint efforts.

The CDA officials and the ICCI representatives discussed the issues relating to the business community in the capital and city’s beautification at a meeting held here on Sunday.

President ICCI Ijaz Abbasi expressed concern that the CDA was neglecting the problems being faced by business community and urged their resolution on priority basis.

It was decided in the meeting that with joint efforts a standard school would be established for children of the business community. And an advertisement in this connection will be published very soon for open auctions.

CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari assured the trades that 8,000 acres land for new industrial estate at Sector I-17 would be acquired in July. He further said the estate would be set up on the pattern of the Sunder Industrial Estate.

He also issued directions for the up-gradation of roads and footpaths at I-9 industrial area.

Mr Lashari said extension of lease for commercial plots would be allowed. He asked the president ICCI to send suggestions for the beautification of markets. —Online
