HYDERABAD, Jan 27: Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (Retd) Abdul Qadir Halepoto has called upon the people to participate in the coming general elections without any fear, saying that the government has made arrangements to ensure law and order in the province.

As a result of effective measures taken by the government, he said, peaceful atmosphere was maintained on Youm-i-Ashur and added that to ensure free, fair and impartial elections in peaceful atmosphere law and order would be maintained.

The chief minister was addressing a public meeting at the residence of Syed Ghulam Nabi Shah in Jiando Halepoto village on Sunday.

He said that the caretaker government was committed to ensuring protection to the life and property of the people and providing them conducive atmosphere so that they could exercise their right of franchise in a peaceful situation.

He said that the caretaker government believed in work instead of making plan, therefore, development works were being carried out in full swing.

He said that he was open to fruitful suggestions which could provide benefit to common people.

He called upon the public representatives to submit development plans so that the caretaker government could consider the same, accord approval and grant funds.

Justice (Retd) Halepoto also inaugurated gas supply to the villages of Jiando Halepoto, Syed Miral Shah, Syed Ghulam Nabi Shah and Allah Rakhio Gopang.

He announced that the Government Girls School of Jiando Halepoto village would be upgraded to the level of high school and said that repair and renovation of the Government Higher Secondary School of the village had been carried out at a cost of Rs29.56 million.

He said that the work on the Basic Health Unit of the village would be completed in one year at a cost of Rs8 million.

The caretaker chief minister issued directives to the Sui Southern Gas to provide gas supply to Khair Mohammad Babbur and Bachu Dero villages.

Caretaker Sindh ministers Mir Mansab Khan Jakhrani, Haji Irshad Ali Memon and Badin District Nazim Anwar Halepoto were present on the occasion.
