Kashmiris Observe Black Day

SIALKOT, Jan 26: Kashmiri people, residing in Sialkot and Narowal districts, observed Black Day on Saturday on the eve of the Indian Republic Day.

The protesters were wearing black armbands to show complete solidarity with the people of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a press release issued by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Forum here on Saturday, Kashmiris held peaceful protest meetings in Sialkot, Daska, Bhopalwala, Sambrial, Uggoki-Bajwat, Pasrur, Chawinda, Badiana, Shakargarh, Zafarwal, Noorkot, Baddo Malhi, Narowal and surrounding areas.

Forum central chairman Dr Zahid Ghani Dar urged the UN to pressurise India for halting large-scale human rights violation.

ROBBERY: Four dacoits looted cash and other valuables worth Rs0.7 million at gunpoint from the local office of a multinational company here on Saturday in Allama Iqbal Chowk locality.

Unilever office in-charge Muhammad Younas Sappal told newsmen that the dacoits stormed into the agency, held all the staff hostage and made off the cash and valuables. The Kotwali police are investigating.
