Lawyers boycott court for an hour

By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Jan 26: Lawyers boycotted courts on Saturday for an hour in response to a call given by the Pakistan Bar Council and the Supreme Court Bar Association to press the government for reinstatement of deposed judges and release of detained judges and lawyers.

They staged a rally in the premises of Civil Courts, which was led by High Court Bar Association (HCBA) president Abdul Sattar Kazi, general secretary Allah Bachayo Soomro and vice-president elect Abdul Rehman Sheikh.

They also observed a two-hour token hunger strike. The leaders said that that if the government tried to evict Chief Justice from his residence lawyers would strongly resist it.
