G-6 quarters’ residents hold demo

ISLAMABAD, Jan 25: The residents of G-6 government quarters on Friday held a demonstration against eviction notices outside the Islamabad Press Club.

They were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against eviction notices and in favour of their demands.

The speaker while addressing on the occasion rejected the decision of government. They said that the residents of G-6, mostly widows and old retired employees will not vacate their homes at any cost.

They further said that if government wants to implement law then it should also issue eviction orders of residents of Quarters in Karachi. The residents of these quarters in Karachi have also been issued ownerships rights.

Similarly, they said that if government did not withdraw its decision they will strongly protest against it and will come on roads.

The caretaker government has no rights to issue such orders, therefore its should mull its decision and withdraw it immediately.

Federal Ministry for Housing and Construction has directed the retired residents of Sector G-6, occupying official residence to vacate the quarters immediately.—Online
