KARACHI: Bomb scare

KARACHI, Jan 25: Panic struck a local five-star hotel when it was placed on high alert on Friday following a bomb scare, which later turned out to be a hoax, police said.

A security official of the Sheraton Hotel, who did not wish to be named, told Dawn that an unknown caller phoned the security in-charge a little after noon telling him that a bomb had been placed in the hotel.

Artillery Maidan police said a bomb disposal squad and a police team rushed to the scene after the security in-charge called ‘15.’— Staff Reporter
