Transporters seek release of JWP leader

JACOBABAD, Jan 23: Transporters of Sindh and Balochistan have threatened closure of their goods transport business if Mureed Bugti, a leader of Jamhoori Watan Party and a social worker, is not released.

Speaking duirng a press conference at press club here on Tuesday, President Goods Association Sindh, Allah Bux Jakhrani and from Balochistan Abdul Wahab said some agencies had picked up Mureed from Dera Allahyar on January 9 and lodged him at an unknown place. They said Mureed Bugti belonged to Jamhoori Watan Party and also a social worker.

They said he had not been produced in court as his family was anxious of whereabouts.

They said they did not want to block roads and were taking legal course for recovery and release of Mureed and added if he was guilty then he should be produced in the court of law. They warned that if he was not produced in the court and his family not allowed a meeting before January 25, they would stop goods transport of Sindh Balochistan adding there would be no loading and unloading by labours in Dera Allahyar, Jacobabad and Kashmore.
