Ban on flour export by private sector

By Mubarak Zeb Khan

ISLAMABAD, Jan 22: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet on Tuesday banned the export of flour to Afghanistan through private sector to stabilise flour price in the domestic market.

The export of wheat to Afghanistan, however, may continue through the government-to-government channel to reduce the chances of smuggling. A special meeting of the ECC held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro took the decision.
