LAHORE, Jan 22: Four-year-old colt Mirana Choice, who had been beaten twice on his previous running, should make amends this time and win the feature event during the midweek Lahore Gymkhana races at the Racecourse on Wednesday.

The Chunian Plate class V division II, to be gone over 1,100 metres has a dozen runners barring last-minute withdrawals.

The colt was beaten on Wednesday last by Scooby Do and Shah Pari when he went wide on entering in to the straight and lost considerable ground and beaten to third place.

Among his rivals, Shah Pari and Tallal The Great are noteworthy by their consistency in performance. This will be the fourth race in the racing order.

Filly Sweet Lady, who was beaten by the mare Armida on her last outing, looks set to avenge her defeat in the supporting and fifth race, to be contested over 1,100 metres. Among her 13 competitors, Armida and Love Minister are good.

Mare Raksh-e-Raqeeban, who has two facile victories to her credit previously, will be on the trot to make it a three in a row on Wednesday. She is appearing in the third race to be gone over 1,100 metres. Among her 11 rivals First Dream, Great Rhythm and Wonderful Smile are prominent among the would be challengers.

The other events which have attracted large field comprising contestants, from 14 to 18 runners, look competitive and may provide interesting and close finishes.

A competitive card of six events has been drawn for the afternoon. The first and the last race will be gone over the sprinting distance of 900 metres while the other four will be contested over 1,100 metres. The first race will be held at 12noon.
